Junior Varsity hockey vs. Cardigan Mountain School

On Saturday the JV hockey team traveled to Cardigan Mountain School with hopes to avenge their loss to the Cougars earlier in the season. The Eagles had been playing some of their best hockey of the season and they were optimistic that they could play with a team that beat them convincingly in January. The game started out slowly for the away team, but fortunately, Eaglebrook goalie Hans Y. '24 came to play and fended off 20 Cardigan shots throughout the first period. Cardigan opened the scoring a couple of minutes into the second period, which seemed to motivate the Eagles. Eaglebrook answered as Wade C. '24 made a nice feed to Henrik P. '25, who made a slick move on the goalie and tucked the puck home. From this point on the intensity of play increased and both teams went back and forth with goals. Cam R. '25 and Colin G. '26 scored on nice shots from the point and the game was tied at the end of the 2nd period. The game was shaping up to be a battle in the 3rd period and it didn't disappoint. Both teams were flying and the play was back and forth at a torrid pace. Fourth former Chris L. '26 buried a rebound for his first career Eaglebrook goal and 4 minutes later Walker S. '25 took a breakout pass from Wade C. '24, blew by a defenceman, and sniped top right corner for a highlight reel goal. Even Though the Eagles were up by 2 goals with 6 minutes remaining they knew the game was far from over. Cardigan pulled their goalie with 2 minutes left and put the pressure on. Eaglebrook withstood the attack until CMS knocked home a bouncing puck with 25 seconds left in the game. The final moments of the game were intense, but the Eagles stayed disciplined and didn't allow a quality scoring chance to their opponent. The celebration was amazing as the JV squad earned a great win over a strong rival team.
