Varsity basketball vs. Northfield Mount Hermon Junior Varsity

On Wednesday Night the Varsity team hosted the Northfield Mount Hermon Junior Varsity basketball team.  Fresh off a tough loss to Cardigan, the Eagles were anxious to get back on the court, and they jumped out to a quick start, scoring the first ten points of the game. NMH finally settled down and found some success getting out on a fast break and by pounding the ball inside. The rest of the half went back and forth, with Eaglebrook leading by as many as 16 points. The Hoggers went on a bit of a run to close the half, scoring the last 5 points of the second period and cutting the Eagles halftime lead to ten points, 33-23. Eaglebrook came out flat to start the third quarter, and NMH took advantage of some of the foul trouble the Eagles faced.  Within three minutes the Hoggers ran off nine straight points, cutting the lead to a single point. Eaglebrook responded out of a time-out, finishing the third quarter with an eleven-point run of their own. Going into the fourth quarter Eaglebrook led 42-32.  NMH made some noise in the fourth, but eventually, some tough defense and excellent rebounding allowed Eaglebrook to finish with a 57-42 victory.

Next up for Eaglebrook with be a neutral site game against Fessenden at Cushing Academy on Friday.
