Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Thirds hockey had a long road trip to have a re-match from last Friday with an equally talented Rumsay Hall. You may recall, we beat them at Eaglebrook 1 to 0 in a back and forth game. We expected no less in this away game. We scored the first goal of the game in the first 40 seconds of the 1st period, which may have been the worst thing that could have happened. This quick tally fired us up so much that we had several other opportunities, but were not able to capitalize. We became a bit overconfident and fell away from our usual game plan of solid defense, clearing our zone quickly and dropping the puck into the opponents' zone. We skated hard but did not execute well and Rumsey scored the next three goals. We had a hard press in the waning minutes of the third period and scored our second goal and were on the track to tie it when the final buzzer sounded. This was another hard-fought match, but quite simply, Rumsey outplayed us and came out on top.
