Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The team traveled down to Windsor, CT on Saturday, February 10 to take on the Pelicans of Loomis Chaffee. Eaglebrook had some great looks both even strength and on the power play but were unable to convert. Off of a couple of tough bounces, the Eagles fell behind by a pair of goals after the first period. However, following the ice cut, the Eagles regrouped and turned the corner in a significant way. Jacob Trowt’s energy got things going for the boys, as he quickly gained the offensive zone and beat the goalie to cut the opposition’s lead in half. Ryan Robbins continued to have a strong showing, collecting a pass in the slot and beating the goalie five-hole to tie the game at 2. The momentum continued to favor the Eagles, as Jordan Nelson was a force out their, collecting two tallies, while Hans Forselius buried a gritty goal in front to secure the 5-3 comeback victory. Nils Forselius and Benito Calvanese played a complete game up front, helping with special teams and creating many scoring chances. Giovanni Grassi, as well as the entire defensive unit, played a solid two-way game moving pucks in transition and also exhibiting great composure when handling pucks. AJ Finta continued to improve in between the pipes, moving pucks to our defensemen and improving rebound control as the game wore on. It was a great team effort, as each member all contributed to overcoming the initial challenges to putting together a solid final two periods of play. On Wednesday afternoon, Eaglebrook will faceoff against Deerfield’s JV for the teams second meeting of the season.
