Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Varsity Squash at the Pomfret Junior Squash Play Day
The February 10th, the Varsity squash Team set out to Connecticut on Saturday, February 10th to compete in the Pomfret Junior Squash Play Day. The Play Day was set up in tournament style, each boy on the Eaglebrook team would be playing against players from Pomfret and Fessenden ranked at the same number as them. After three way introductions, the boys were ready to play. Spencer Kirby, John Pope, Theo Reginensi, and Alex Alexandrovskiy took to the courts first, coming out strong with great footwork and shot selection, all winning 3-0. After scoring the first round of matches, Adrian Todd, Maury Escalona, Rohan Edwards, and Tynan Creagh played in the second round of matches, continuing the team momentum with big wins. The team’s fitness was tested throughout the day, as many boys on the team were challenged to play their matches back-to-back. Luckily, Coach Chase’s fitness days have been paying off, and even short recovery times were no match for our boys. The Brookies ended the day with a record of 15-1 in matches, winning the tournament. We thank Pomfret for hosting such a great day of squash, and we look forward to taking on Deerfield again this Wednesday, February 14th.
