Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The EBS swim team hosted the Exeter JV team Saturday on Winter Carnival weekend. Just a week ago the team traveled to Exeter, NH for a dual meet with the same team, the outcome came down to the last event of the meet. It was a very different story on Saturday. The Eaglebrook team demonstrated to the large crowd of parents, friends, faculty, and students why they are one of the top prep school swimming teams in New England, despite being only a junior prep school. The team started the meet off by breaking the school record in the 200 Medley Relay for the third time this year. The B- Relay squad of Kevin Chang, Alex Ahmed, Sean Meng and Henry Wiemeyer also beat Exeter’s top team in the race. Every member of the EBS team swam their personal bests during this meet. Felix Tsao was victorious in the 200 Freestyle. Andrew Chang inched closer to the school record in the 200 Individual Medley race with Jeffrey Lim finishing a close second, despite not feeling his best. Michael Xu also took fifth place in the event. The Brookies swept the 50 Freestyle with Tim Barry leading a 1-2-3 sweep. It was quite a spectacular meet for Eaglebrook, swimming faster every race. Qais Hijazi and Thomas Bowers took first and third in the 500 Freestyle. Then, the Eaglebrook Relay teams finished first and third in the 200 Freestyle Relay and the final 400 Freestyle Relay. Jack Sun finished the individual events with a season-best time in the 100 Breaststroke. Eaglebrook won every event, most second places and swept two races, what a day. After handshakes with the Exeter team, the boys stood together on the pool deck to salute their parents, and allow their families to take a final picture. The team travels to Eagle Hill School on Saturday for their final dual meet, to warm up for the Nick Whyte Invitational Pentathlon at EBS in two weeks.
