Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Varsity team traveled to Cushing Academy to play Fessenden on Friday, January 19. Despite loosing to the bears at the Boys Club Tournament last weekend, the Brookies were excited about the opportunity to play against an excellent team. The game started slowly with Fessy jumping out to a quick lead, but our team continued to work hard and keep the lead manageable. Down twelve points at the half, The Eagles came out strong in the second half, and quickly cut Fessenden's lead to six points. Fessy made a run, opening up a nineteen-point lead, but the Brookies would not give up. Great team defense and some timely shooting allowed Eaglebrook to cut the lead to one point in the closing seconds. The Bears made one of two free throws with six seconds remaining, giving them a two-point lead, and Eaglebrook was unable to get a shot off at the buzzer.
Next up for Eaglebrook is a Friday afternoon game against Deerfield JV.
