Track at the Bement Invitational

Sixteen Eaglebrook Track team members went down to Deerfield Academy for the 17th annual Bement Invitational on Saturday, May 2, 2009. Eaglebrook competed against Amherst, Athol, Bement, Mahar, Pioneer, and Mohawk. Eaglebrook took home a win with a 40-point lead.

 The highlight of the meet was our 4 x 100 relay team breaking and making a new Eaglebrook record as well as a Bement Invitational Meet record. Their time was a 47.1 in the second race. Jin Woo Choi ’09, Greg Poole ’10, Sean Lee ’09, and Johnathan Flores ’09 were the team. Jin Woo Choi ’09 set a school and meet record in the 100-meter dash with an incredible time of 11.3 seconds. Lucy Chase ’10 and Lauren Stobierski ’10 had a great opportunity to compete with girls from all the schools. Lucy Chase ’10 won first place in the 400 meters with a time of 66.9 seconds as well as winning first place in the 200 meters with a time of 30.3 seconds. Lauren Stobierski ’10 won second place in the 200 metes with a time of 34.9 seconds. Kian Ivery ’09 took first place in the 1500 meters with a time of 4:59.4, sixth place in the long jump with a jump of 14’ 7.5”, fourth place in the 400 meters with a time of 61.7 seconds, and was a member of the 4 X 400 relay team which took home second place. Johnathan Flores ’09 earned fourth place in the 200 meters with a time of 25.7 seconds, fourth place in the 100 meters with a time of 12.1 seconds, second place in the shot put with a throw of 33’6”, forth place in the discus with a throw of 79’7”, and was a member of the record breaking 4 X 100 relay team. Sunho Park ’10 took home second place in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:06.2, and second place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:30.8.
