JV Squash at Squash Haven

The JV Squash team traveled down to New Haven on Saturday to play the Squash Haven team at Yale. Squash Haven is a co-ed urban squash program that has players from several middle schools in New Haven. They practice and play at Yale University, which houses 15 courts including an all-glass exhibition court. It was exciting for the Brookies to play in such impressive facilities and to see some of the Yale players practicing as we arrived. The team then played an extremely exciting and close match against Squash Haven. Most of the ten matches went to at least four games, and several of the Eaglebrook players commented that it was the hardest they had ever played. Will Thomasco played incredibly well, and came out with the win after an intense five game match. Antonio Mayol took his opponent to four games, as did acting captain Ben Rowland. Overall, it was an exciting and rewarding day for the JV Squash team, and we hope to meet up with Squash Haven again next year.
