"The Odd Couple" Takes the Stage

The two evenings before commencement, 17 members of the EBS Players - ten actors, three sound and light crew, and four stagehands - wrapped up two very successful performances of the spring play, Neil Simon's The Odd Couple. This classic 1965 comedy tells a story that will be familiar to many Eaglebrook students. Felix Ungar is a nervous, fastidious newswriter who is forced by circumstance to move in with his messy, laid-back friend, Oscar Madison. Although they come into frequent conflict, Oscar and Felix ultimately benefit from each other's company, with Oscar slowly starting to clean up after himself and meet his responsibilities, and Felix learning to let things go and relax a bit. The roommate experience is a crucial part of boarding life at Eaglebrook, and can sometimes be a challenge; as a result, the community responded to this timeless story with great enthusiasm. Great job, everyone! See photos from the performance here.
