Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
An ace performance by Will Jordan hoisted Eaglebrook to a 6-1 win in seven innings over Williston on Wednesday at Eaglebrook School.
Will's 10 strikeouts helped Eaglebrook to the victory. Will allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings.
Will also helped his cause on offense, going 2-3 at the plate. He doubled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 5th, scoring Gianni Demerski all the way from first, and added an RBI single in the 6th, scoring Jake Presnal to put the game out of reach. Jake Presnal also had a day at the plate. Presnal went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the first and sixth innings.
Williston scored its only run of the game on a groundout in the first inning. Their best opportunity came in the top of the fourth with the score knotted at 1-1. Williston quickly loaded the bases with no outs, but Jacob Mehl came up big with a defensive play, when he snagged a line drive to first base, and then tagged the runner retreating to first for a double-play. With momentum back on his side, Will Jordan then struck out the next batter to get out of the jam.
The Eagles increased their lead with four runs in the sixth, all with two outs, and Will Jordan worked efficiently to finish the game. Eaglebrook moved to 3-0 on the season, and now looks forward to facing a solid NMH team on Friday afternoon, away at NMH.
