Varsity Baseball v. Mohawk

Eaglebrook takes advantage of early error, beats Mohawk Trail 7-4

Four first-inning runs helped Eaglebrook to a 7-4 win over Mohawk Trail on Wednesday. Dom Cormier reached base three times in the game for Eaglebrook. He doubled in the second inning. Greg Sohmer put together a nice outing. Greg held Mohawk Trail hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out five.

After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Mohawk Trail faced just a 4-1 deficit. However, it didn't take long for Eaglebrook to respond as they scored one run of their own in the fifth, and two later in the sixth off a Zach Mooney double to right field.

Three Mohawk Trail runs crossed the plate in the top half of the seventh, making the score 7-4. A pair of singles and an error set off the Mohawk Trail rally, but it was too little too late.

Eaglebrook's next game is Saturday at Avon Old Farms.
