Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eagles faced Deerfield’s JV swim team on Wednesday, January 13th, 2010. The Eagles started off with a bang, wining the 200 Medley Relay: Anna Worcester (backstroke), Junbeom Ku (breastroke), Brandon Wu (butterfly), and Sam Brown anchoring the relay (freestyle). The swimmer of the meet was RJ Finlay, who swam best times in the 200 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle. He even became a member of the sub 1:00 club in the 100 free, going 58.76! Augie Morris and Thomas Ferguson backed Finlay up in the 100 free, finishing 2nd and 4th, each with best times, too. The 50 Free was another strong event; the Eagles placed 1st , Kevin Fong, 2nd- John Miller, and 3rd, Ted Kim. Kevin Fong dropped two seconds on his 50, going 26.96. Sam Prout debuted the 100 Fly swimming 1:02.42, placing 1st. David Cho won the 500 free, holding a strong, steady pace. Another highlight was Henry Chou’s first leg of the 200 Freestyle Relay, 26.24. And our captains Ellison Taylor and Dong Gi Park both won the 100 Backstroke and 100 Breaststroke. Overall, the Eagles had strong races and performed well. We look forward to seeing more stellar competition this winter.
