Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The JV Lacrosse team took the long trek to Lakeville, CT to play Indian Mountain School on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. After playing in two straight games in the cold and rain, the warm sun was a welcome relief, though not without its own dangers. Eaglebrook controlled the ball early, but fast breaks and loose ball situations led to quick goals by Indian Mountain. IMS’s strong defense made it hard to get open looks, and so the 4-0 half time score looked almost insurmountable, but the Eagles continued to put pressure on the IMS goalie, who stopped many Eaglebrook shots. We were finally able to get on the board when Michael Edson ran around the goal and scored over the goalie before the defense could stop him. The heat took a toll on EBS as we ran out of steam in the second half and lost concentration that led to two more IMS goals. The EBS defense played strong, anchored by Davy Colby, Will Knight, Augie Morris, Jake Lans, and Warit Nimmanahaeminda. The final score was 6-1.
