Eaglebrook Celebrates the First Winter Carnival of the New Century
With Winter Carnival now behind us, many at Eaglebrook are reflecting on the changes that lead to new experiences and memories. If the change to hold the Winter Carnival Games on Friday wasn’t change enough, all in attendance were given the opportunity to experience the first-ever indoor Winter Carnival Games held in the Alfond Arena.
The weekend started with parents attending a full day of classes in only two hours. Pictures of morning classes can be found here.
Following the morning classes and a buffet lunch, the entire campus was treated to an afternoon of musical entertainment. Eaglebrook’s Band, Chorus, and some gifted piano students performed selected pieces. You can watch the performances here and see pictures from the afternoon here.
After an afternoon of music, parents, and students joined the faculty for the first-ever indoor Winter Carnival Games where students competed by dorm for the coveted Winter Carnival Cup. And while Halstead would take the cup for the second year in a row, everyone enjoyed themselves. Those who wish to watch a recording of the events can do so by going to https://eaglebrook.gameonstream.com/ and selecting “Winter Carnival” from the “On Demand” section of the webpage. Pictures from the events can be found here.
That night, all in attendance were treated to the Winter Carnival Evening of the Arts. Performances from the String Orchestra, Jazz Band, Ad Libs, and a brief play ensued. Pictures of the musical portion of the evening can be found here, while pictures of the one-act play, Teen Court: Somewhere between Justice and Third Period, can be found here. A recording of the play can be found here.
Saturday, rather than the typical schedule of Winter Carnival then sports, was kicked off with Parent-Teacher Conferences and then a day of athletic events. Pictures from the day can be found here.
