Meet Kevin Baines
The Beginning
Over half a century ago Kevin Baines '69 made his first gift to Eaglebrook. It was $15.00. You might think this is a modest amount, understandable since he was a young student. But remember inflation! That was a gift of over $100.00 in today's money.
Gratitude
Kevin wanted to show his appreciation to the school he credits with preparing him for success at Hotchkiss, Amherst College, and grad school at Washington University in St. Louis where he earned a PhD in Physics.
Better still, Kevin maintained this practice of donating every year and increasing his giving to account for inflation, without a single missed anniversary. And he vows to never stop!
The Long Game
As an expert in deep space exploration, Kevin knows a thing or two about playing the long game. Space missions, like those to Uranus, take decades of consistent effort (and billions of dollars) to realize.
Kevin is submitting proposals that he hopes will be fulfilled by future generations of scientists, perhaps some current Eaglebrook students like those hard at work in the labs of the Evans Center right now.
