Residential & Campus Living

Most students live with a roommate, all within a dorm of 30 other boys, and six to eight faculty members. The Skills of Citizenship, being a responsible member of the community and taking part in group activities, are fundamental to the daily activities in each dorm. Being responsible for personal belongings, respecting the belongings of others and the school, and taking part in daily community service-oriented tasks help to develop awareness of citizenship.
Each student also takes part in daily routines, which are intended to promote the Skills of Healthy Living. Time is set aside for activities related to personal hygiene and students are given reasonable rising and bedtimes. Limits on food, electronics, and other items help students practice good habits within the dorm. Required attendance at meals reinforces good habits for regular, healthy nutrition. The structure of our dormitory routines, including the evening study halls, also supports the Skills of Organization and Time Management, which begin in the classroom.

Activities

List of 3 items.

  • Daily Assembly

Each morning Eaglebrook's campus comes alive with songs, stories, concerts, acting, videos, and illustrated lectures. Each Sixth Former has an assembly date to present to the entire school.
  • Saturdays

Since Eaglebrook has no Saturday classes, boys participate in the schools numerous organized activities on and off-campus.  These activities can include athletic games, cooking, community service, riflery, board games, library research, overnights, museum visits, dances, field trips, tournaments, ski trips, movies, plays, concerts, town trips, bicycle trips, and swimming.
  • Parent Weekends

Eaglebrook has two Parent Weekends. The first is Country Fair in mid-October, four weeks after the opening of school, and the second is Winter Carnival in early February. On both of these long weekends, parents have the opportunity to visit classes, talk with teachers, watch athletic games, and attend student performances. Rich in tradition, Eaglebrook School's Winter Carnival is the second oldest in the country.
