Varsity Basketball Win at the Belmont Hill Invitational

Over the weekend the Varsity basketball team made their annual trip out east to play in the Belmont Hill Invitational.  The first round of games pitted Eaglebrook versus Belmont Hill and St. Sebastian's against St. John's Prep.  As has been the case over the years, the Eaglebrook and Belmont Hill teams are very well-matched.  This year was no different and the teams traded the lead throughout the first half in what was essentially a three-point game most of the way.  In the second half Eaglebrook locked in defensively and was able to eventually open up a seven-point lead with about three minutes to go.  Despite a push at the end by the Navigators, the Brookies were able to hit enough free throws on the offensive end and get some key stops defensively to walk off with a 64-61 victory.

In the second game of the tournament, Eaglebrook jumped out to an 18-point lead halfway through the opening half. St. Sebastains kept at it and was able to cut into the lead a few times, closing to within 12 with a few minutes remaining. The Brookies went on a run to finish the game and walked away with a 65-39 victory.

Great all-around play by Ollie V. '23, Will K. '23, Michael E. '24, and Zeke L. '24 who lead the way for the Eagles, and every player was able to contribute significantly to the tournament win.

Next up for Eaglebrook will be a game at Redemption Christain Academy in Troy, NY on January 7th.
