Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Junior Varsity Hockey vs. Pope Francis Junior Varsity
Junior Varsity Hockey hoped to carry the momentum from their Friday night game as they took on a much older squad from Pope Francis Prep. From the puck drop, it was clear that the team had their work cut out for them, as the Pope team was not only older, but they were fast and skilled. At first, the Eaglebrook team seemed a bit overwhelmed, but after a couple of odd-man rushes, it was clear they could hang with this team. Despite our chances, they went down 1-0 in the first period on an "unlucky" bounce that led to a scoring chance by the opponent. Unfortunately, this was the way the rest of the game went; Eaglebrook had chance after chance and they were only able to put the puck in the back of the net one time and the Pope Francis team was able to capitalize on their opportunities. The final score ended up being 1-5 in favor of the Cardinals, but in this case, it was not indicative of how the Eagles played. Eaglebrook Junior Varsity is back in action on Friday night when they take on a strong TopGun 09 Elite team at the Alfond Arena.
