TEDxEaglebrookSchool, 4 Years Later

Although TEDxEaglebrookSchool 2020 was canceled this year, we are looking back to the launch of the program in 2017. The first-ever TEDx event took place on April 22, 2017, and the goal was to bring people on stage to share and spread ideas through short talks. The group of students made T-shirts, a sign, and promoted the event on campus. Since that time, there has been more school and faculty involvement. However, the core work to produce the event is still done by students, with students, and for students. “Students are the ones behind the camera, students are the ones helping with promotion and coaching the speakers and then on the night of the event each April, its students on stage and students in the audience,” said Jim Fay, TEDx Coordinator last spring.

The program has spotlighted the ideas and work of alumni, past parents, and students and their recorded talks are a tool in their own professional advancement. Some recent TEDxEaglebrook School speakers include Dr. Bob Arnot P09 who discussed “The Ultimate Super Food” and Philip Silva '96 who discussed “How Much Poverty Should Exist in the World?.” We look forward to TEDxEaglebrookSchool in 2021. If you are interested in speaking at TEDxEaglebrookSchool 2021, please contact Jim Fay, TEDxEaglebrookSchool Coordinator.
