Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook swim team traveled to the Eagle Hill School in Hardwick, MA on January 8 for a swim meet against Eagle Hill and Bement. After a scenic drive around the Quabbin Reservoir, the Eagles took to the pool for a warm-up and began the meet with a booming cheer. From the start, the Eagles were in control of the meet. Out of sixteen events total, the Eagles placed first and second in heats of six swimmers in eight events. Some highlights included Ian C. and Fernando B. braving the 500-yard freestyle after only one day of practice following the winter break, Ian C. competing in his first Eaglebrook swim meet, Logan P. and Will B. shining in the 50-yard backstroke, and Allen D. and Bertrand L. competing in their first breaststroke race of the season. There was stellar sportsmanship from all three teams, and it was a joy to watch swimmers shaking their opponents' hand after each race.
