Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Artwork Loan for District Court Cultural Diversity Celebration
Ms. Kristy Paciorek (mother of Matt Como ’18), Assistant Chief Probation Officer at the Eastern Hampshire District Court organized and unveiled an art exhibit from September 24th through the 28th to celebrate cultural awareness. This was the Trial Court’s first week-long Cultural Diversity Celebration. Included in the courthouse lobby were works by Eaglebrook students from Mrs. Fay’s, Ms. Tabery’s, and Mr. Russom’s art classes.
Ms. Tabery said, “as teachers, we are proud to share their efforts and creativity with the wider community.” She continues, “our kids had no knowledge their artwork was being used this way, but what was cool is that Ms. Kristy Paciorek observed people were starting conversations about the artwork and signs.”
The artwork by Eaglebrook students was only intended to be up for one week, but the artwork was liked so much that the staff asked for it to be displayed longer. After a week in the lobby, the artwork was recently displayed in the clerk’s office and probation department.
Ms. Kirsty Paciorek said, “the staff remarked how the art has brightened the court and want it to stay. Visitors have commented that they have never seen such beautiful drawings.” She goes on to suggest, “we are extremely grateful for the student’s kindness and generosity.”
Ms. Kristy Paciorek wanted the Eaglebrook students to know that their artwork sparked many discussions. Ms. Tabery and Ms. Paciorek hope to make the artwork loan an annual event for Eaglebrook. Ms. Paciorek said, “ we have already discussed plans for involvement next year and the hope is that students will get the chance to view their art on display in the courthouse.” Next year, the displays will be in the Greenfield District Court, which will allow for easy access of students and staff. As Ms. Tabery said, “the loan shows the importance and value in outreach beyond the Hill and a wonderful link that brings happiness to the people in the court.”
