On Wednesday night, the Eaglebrook Varsity B hockey team earned a well deserved 6-2 victory over the Western Mass Blades. Eaglebrook was six men down, playing with only 8 forwards and 5 defensemen. Furthermore, Brendan O’Connell was lost early in the game due to illness, leaving the team with only 7 forwards. Eaglebrook conceded a goal early in the first period, a mere 1:27 into the game. However, the rest of the game was all Eaglebrook. Hamilton Drucker scored on the power play with an assist to Nick Kurty and Brendan O’Connell. Chuck Goldstein scored his first of two with an assist to Gus Walsh later in the first period. Eaglebrook maintained its scoring ways in the second, pulling ahead 3-1 with another Goldstein goal with an assist to Will Shaw. Eaglebrook pulled ahead 4-1 with a Will Shaw goal with an assist to Goldstein and Walsh. Josh Roemer earned a breakway goal off a Drucker assist. Drucker rounded out the scoring with a beautiful tip off a Charlie Yorke shot from the point. Remy Levine continued his stellar ways in net, making key saves when called upon. Eaglebrook looks forward to their Saturday Winter Carnival game against the Shamrock Elites.
