Varsity B Hockey began its season with a tough 5-1 defeat at the hands of Rumsey Hall School. The boys started slowly, allowing a goal within the opening seconds. Eaglebrook found itself down two goals at the end of the first period. The boys regrouped, refocused, and played the second period with more energy and enthusiasm. Passes began to connect and Eaglebrook found itself on the threatening end of some genuine scoring chances. The efforts paid off as Brendan O'Connell converted a Chuck Goldstein blocked shot for Eaglebrook's opening goal of the season. Eaglebrook found more momentum, nearly converting several opportunities. Unfortunately, a series of penalties found Eaglebrook attempting to kill penalties rather than attempting to close the gap in the score. Remy Levine played strong in net, facing a barrage of shots and keeping the score as close as he
could. Connor Sullivan and Paddy Wakeham gave particularly strong defensive performances. Eaglebrook looks to rebound against Vermont Academy on Friday.
