Swimming v. Phillips Andover

This past Saturday, the Eaglebrook swimmers faced their toughest competition with tenacity and determination. Despite losing a meet for the first time in many years, they truly rose to the challenge and had a very successful meet.  There were fantastic races on Saturday.  Captain and sixth former, Ben Wood, has continually lowered his breaststroke times each meet. During this meet, he knocked off another second for a Personal best time of 1:10.67.  Wilson Wang started the individual events off strong by winning the 200 yd freestyle with a personal best of 2:04.11.  David Cho had tough competition during the 500 free, racing head to head against the Andover swimmer next to him for 20 grueling laps.  Cho dropped 7 seconds in his 500, coming in second with a best time of 5:52. Michael Tanner dropped almost 20 seconds from his 500 Fr, and had personal bests in all three of his other events earning him swimmer of the meet.  Henry Chou dropped 12, and James Oh dropped 2 seconds in the 500 also.  Yuki Sato and Jared Armes made their debut in the 500 yd free, looking strong.  Nailing every dive, Sam Prout shattered Eaglebrook's 1 meter diving record by a whopping 20 + points.  He was calm, confident and poised during his event.  The Eaglebrook swimmers and divers showed true sportsmanship on Saturday, cheering for their teammates and by swimming with heart.  They should be very proud of themselves for rising to challenge.
