Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Even with the recent poor weather, the Eaglebrook Ski Team has been quite busy and has started the season off with a bang. Over the weekend, we had 11 racers compete in a Tristate USSA U14 Giant Slalom race at Berkshire East. Aran Zecha and Jack Denhart finished strongly, earning a 8th and 9th place result for the day. Zach Mooney competed in the U18 Slalom at Blanford Mountain, and had an outstanding race in which he tied for 3rd place (in a race that had college racers competing). On Wednesday, January 15th, the EBS ski team traveled to Berkshire East for our second MISL race of the year; the Varsity team raced Slalom and the Junior Varsity team raced Giant Slalom. On the Varsity course, Zach Mooney had two outstanding race runs, and earned a 1st place finish, and Jun-O Park skied into 11th place. On the JV course, Junhan Park stepped up his intensity and earned a well-deserved 1st place finish. Our new addition to the team, MacGregor Peterson, placed 3rd and his teammates Daniel Cho and Gabriel De Los Santos were close behind in 5th and 6th place. JV veteran racer Taro Makihara rounded up the 10 ten, and showed great improvement from last week's race. The Eaglebrook Ski Team is eager for more snow fall, and prepared for the upcoming races this season!
