Thirds Basketball v. Four Rivers

Falling victim to a buzzer-beating basket, Thirds Basketball dropped its second straight in a 28-26 final against crosstown rival Four Rivers at home on Tuesday to fall to a 1-5 mark for the season.  The Brookies started off the game slow by falling behind early, but managed to break through with a couple of transition baskets off a pair of turnovers to take a slim lead in the first half.  The two teams would trade leads no more than three points the rest of the way until Four Rivers tied the game at 26-all with under a minute to play in the game.  Eaglebrook actually had the chance to win with its final possession of the ball, but failed to connect with under ten seconds remaining on the clock to give Four Rivers one final attempt on offense.  That was the difference in the game as the visitors made the most of their last possession by nailing a put-back bucket off an offensive rebound with time expiring to escape with the win.
