Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook Boys basketball team traveled to New York City on Saturday, January 15 to participate in the Future Stars Tournament. Teams in the tournament included: Rectory, Rumsey Hall, Cardigan Mountain School, New York City Boys Club, and Eaglebrook. Coming off an emotional win against Cardigan the night before, Eaglebrook drew a tough first round draw and faced Rectory. With a relentless press, Rectory earned some easy baskets off turnover baskets and Eaglebrook found themselves down early. Eaglebrook’s Isaiah Cyprien was a highlight for the game, scoring a number of impressive drives to the hoop. Eaglebrook fought hard but ended up losing by a significant margin. In the second round, Eaglebrook matched up well against Rumsey Hall. With leadership from Angelo Hunt, Gabe Bitzer, and Rodney Miller, Eaglebrook worked the post and scored off some easy lay-ins. Eaglebrook proved to be too much for Rumsey and won with a 30-point margin. In Eaglebrook’s final game in the tournament and fourth game within twenty hours, tired legs couldn’t overcome Cardigan’s zone trap. Eaglebrook made a valiant effort with an impressive comeback in the second half with tenacious defense from Nick Seretta, Noah Cisse, and Isaiah Cyprien, but couldn’t close the gap. Eaglebrook finished the weekend with a 2-2 record with the stage is set for a rubber-match against Cardigan later in the season.
