Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook Varsity Ice Hockey team faced off against the Cushing Penguins on Wednesday, January 20. Although the Brookies faced off against a much larger and more physical opponent they did not show any signs of being intimidated. The Eagles came out of the gate flying using their superior skill to get the Penguins to running around in their own zone. By the end of the first period Eaglebrook was on top one to zero. As the game continued the Brookies kept up the intensity and they were able to pop in another goal on the power play in the second period. In the third period the tide began to change. The Penguins came out flying and ready to throw their weight around. They were able to score a quick goal only minutes into the period. The rest of the game was hard fought, but the Penguins were able to get a few lucky bounces and tie the game. The Brookies picked up their game in the final minutes but were unable to regain the lead. Although a win would have been nice all eyes turn towards Saturday when the Brookies will face off against Cardigan Mountain.
