At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. The Varsity Ice Hockey team faced off against Cathedral High school on Saturday, January 9 in an effort to obtain a much-needed victory. The Brookies came out of the gate flying, however the Panthers were able to weather Eaglebrook’s early onslaughts and put one in the net only minutes into the first period. Eaglebrook then continued to put on the pressure throughout the remainder of the first and second periods, out shooting and out hitting the Panthers. In the third period Eaglebrook was able to tie the game but a defensive lapse allowed the Panthers to put in yet another goal and regain the lead. The Brookies continued to fight hard to tie the game and the excitement elevated as the game came down to the final seconds. Eaglebrook was pummeling the Panthers goal tender with shots from every direction and as the last second ticked off the clock, the puck was found behind the goal line and in the net. All heads turned to the referee as the rink quieted awaiting the call. No goal!,” screamed the ref, and the rink groaned in disappointment. Although Eaglebrook was not able to achieve a victory, their efforts and game play were astounding. Overall, the Brookies are headed in the right direction and another week of hard practice and focus leaves everyone with high expectations for the weeks to come.
