Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Thirds Lacrosse team showed much improvement in their second game of the season, playing East Longmeadow to a tie. Alan Kim, new to the goalie position, played a tremendous game. He made many saves and on multiple occasions, he was seen running the ball up the field to spark our attack. Eaglebrook also saw strong play from Santiago Miranda, Juan Bolinaga, and Ian Hurley on the defensive end. They served as vocal leaders for their teammates, and kept the East Longmeadow attackers at bay with their fight for ground balls, physical play, and well timed stick checks. Kevin Ougourlian, Pablo Barroso, Pablo Borgio, Joe Bouchard, and Tommy Litle all displayed confidence with the ball as they each had a hand in putting Eaglebrook on the scoreboard. Also of note, John Banker enthusiastically decided to try the face-off position, and was successful in winning a few key possessions for the team. With 15 seconds left in the game, we attempted to put away the game-winning goal; while we were not successful, the team displayed a no-quit attitude and everyone was willing to fight until the end. There are many positives to take away from this game, and we look forward to continuing to improve as we move forward.
