Morgan “Mo” Cassara ’89 spoke to the Eaglebrook community at the most recent Hilly Chase Speaker Series. “It was a thrill to be back at Eaglebrook and back on stage after 25 years. To have an opportunity to speak to so many old friends, teachers, faculty and students was truly a thrill for me. EBS gave me an opportunity I will never forget. I am grateful to have been able to express that during Hilly Chase” he said. Watch a clip from Mo’s presentation where he is remembering his Eaglebrook days here.
Mo is currently a college basketball analyst for ESPN, but he began his career in coaching. He has coached at all levels of play and is passionate about the work and the dedication it takes. Mo spoke to the students about taking advantage of opportunities, and trying new things. He said, “One of the things I loved about Eaglebrook during my time here is that I did everything. I got to play three different sports, I got to be in the arts; I got to do different things. So often today, you don’t enjoy the experience. Trust me. Take advantage of all of these wonderful teachers here. Take advantage of all these wonderful opportunities. Learn, expand, and try different things. That is what I always loved about Eaglebrook and I did not realize it until I was gone. Believe me, enjoy the experience.“
Mo did some mock sports interviews with the students, letting them take roles as both players, coaches, and reporters. You can watch a mock interview here. He also talked to the students about how important it is to be passionate about what you do. Watch a clip here.
“This is a special place,” he told the students as he closed. “The first thing I talked about tonight was opportunity. You have an incredible opportunity every day here…This is one of the most special places I have ever been.“
We thank Mo for coming back to the Hill to give such an inspirational presentation to the students and teachers.
