Why would you send a sixth-grade boy to boarding school? Shouldn't a ninth-grade student start high school? What is a junior boarding school? Make an appointment to visit us today and learn why Eaglebrook, a boarding and day school for boys in middle school, might be the right place for your son.
Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Playing in front of their largest crowd of the season, the Junior Blues played a well-coached and determined Mount Hermon Wolves team from Northfield MA. Clearly this was the most competitive game of the season for the Junior Blue team who were missing Will Eiamsakulrat. Jordi De La Torre moved out of goal to play a strong center midfield position. Jordi along with Charlie Kenyon and Peter Villani were key in keeping the Blues in the game early, as it was a slow start for the young Eagles. Fortunately Matt Gardner found the back of the net before the Wolves did to provide a little momentum for Eaglebrook. Just before the whistle blew to end the first half Zach Davis was able to cross the plane of the goal with a nice shot to put Eaglebrook up by 2 goals. Jack and Connor Theriault were outstanding in the backfield. Both boys had perhaps their best game of the year. Pat Rungsrithong played a splendid game by taking charge at several key moments of the game. Alex Choi had a nice afternoon on the field playing well at the fullback spot. Kojo Aduhene held the Wolves scoreless until the 55-minute mark of the game when the Wolves were able to place a nice shot by Kojo that was impossible to save. Jay Douglas played a strong second half causing fits for the defensive backs of Mount Hrermon. Pablo Sanchez was his steady self throughout the contest playing in front of his family. Angel Mieres sealed the ninth win for the Blues by scoring the third goal on the day for a tired but enthusiastic Junior Blue team that for, the third time this season played two games back to back in 24 hours. The team has some well deserved time off to connect with parents and friends at home the next couple of days but will be back in action on Friday, October 25 against Athol Middle School. Game time is set for 3:30 pm on Uppvall Field.
