Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
It was another rousing performance from the young men of Eaglebrook’s Varsity Water Polo team. This week, Varsity faced a tough opponent in Williston North Hampton. Williston struck early, scoring three goals in the first quarter. In the second, Eaglebrook’s Dustin Lee fired back with a goal of his own, breaking away from his defender and earning a one-on-one shot against the rival keeper. Lee ended the game with two goals. Egor Cherenkov, goalie for Eaglebrook, stood his ground nobly against the Williston offense, allowing no goals in the second. He would finish with seven saves on the day. In a high-scoring third quarter, Eaglebrook’s Brandon Liao sped past defenders to score one, while Williston answered with three more. Liao’s exceptional effort included a number of offensive breakaways and hit a high point in the third quarter with a swift backhand shot on Williston’s shallow-end goal. Eaglebrook came out shooting in the fourth, with goals from Liao, Ernesto Brown, and Jordan Haney. Despite a valiant effort late in the game, Eaglebrook failed to make up the difference in the end, and Williston won the day in a final score of eight goals to six.
