Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Our team continued to learn and grow on Saturday during an exciting game with the always well-coached and talented Cardigan Mountain football team. The offense seemed to improve a bit in the passing game as key completions were engineered by Dylan Presnal to Pierre Coffey, and Matt McCormack. Streeter Simmons ran the ball effectively in his first game and the Presnal-Simmons option play was significantly more effective than any option we've attempted in the last ten years. Selden Leonard also ran the ball very well. The key to our offense was the line's pass blocking, which kept the defense away from our quarterback most of the day. On defense, Coffey and McCormack made key interceptions and the big pick off was landed by Zach Mooney to seal the game. Henry Hohlstein, Garreth Cuniff, put in hard work on both sides of the ball and many others, while Kofi Williams maintained great pass coverage all day long on defense. Much work remains in the areas of offensive run blocking and defensive tackling but the players certainly had a fun time competing in such a close and well-contested game. The final score came down to an extra point where the Eagles were able to stop the Cougar offense one foot away from the goal line. Both sides played well and the coaches were pleased with the dedication and progress.
