Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
In a closely contested battle, the EBS Junior Varsity tennis squad succumbed to the Northfield Hoggers 3 - 4. Snapping up solid wins for the Eagles was William Blauvelt, Aman Dalal, and Kozo Kubo, bringing us to a commanding early lead, 3 - 0. As battles raged on between our two and three positions, it became clear that a solid competitive spirit existed within the Northfield ranks. The Hoggers soon brought the score back to within one, with the Eagles in the lead 3 - 2. Our number one, Ping Virameetekul was up early, then down, then forced to endure five match points before finally ceding victory to his opponent. Winning that game would have forced his match into a tie-break... but in athletics as in life, one cannot dwell on 'what if's,' so our boys set their sights on winning the match through the double's point. Unfortunately this was not meant to be - as the Hoggers snapped up a 2 - 1 win for the double's point and thusly the match. Although we drove home in somber spirits, it was certain to all that we had offered up a respectable fight, and the EBS boys will surely prepare for our next meeting at home with hungry beaks.
