At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
On Friday, The Mohawk Regional Warriors from Shelburne Falls arrived on Pocumtuck Mountain with an unblemished 6-0 record. The Eaglebrook team took a quick one run lead in the bottom of the first inning, led by the running of Noah Cisse and hitting of Ryan Gravina. In the top of the second, Mohawk tied up the game on a couple of hits and a walk. In the bottom of the second, the Brookies scored two more runs to take a 3-1 lead. Unfortunately, starting hurler Johnny Curtis was hit by a pitch and had to leave the game with a badly bruised right forearm. J.P. Schuhlen was called upon to take over the pitching duties from Curtis. Schuhlen held the Warriors at bay until the forth inning when J.P. felt a sharp pain in his pitching arm, giving up two runs before getting out of the inning. The Eaglebrook boys were not to be denied in front of the large hometown crowd. Kelly Killeen, Schuhlen, and Cisse squeezed out two runs off the excellent Mohawk pitcher to lead Eaglebrook to a 5-3 advantage. Brett Miner took over on the mound and shutdown the Mohawk offense for last three innings, to preserve the win ,5-4. The Eaglebrook team played outstanding defense lead by Brady Collins behind the plate, Zach Leeds at shortstop, Ben Rowland at second base, Mark Gravina at first and Noah Cisse in centerfield. Eaglebrook is now the only undefeated team in the league with a 2-0-1 record.
