Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
On Wednesday, Eaglebrook earned a thrilling 3-2 win over Avon Old Farms. Eaglebrook came out stronger than any other game this year, netting the first two goals of the game early in the first period. Nate Summers scored an unassisted goal followed by a beautiful Zeke Emerson goal off a feed from Chuck Goldstein. The lead was held into the second when defensive lapses allowed Avon some latitude to pull the game closer, which they did by netting two goals going into the second. It all came down to the third period when goaltender Jack Parsons raised his game and kept the Eaglebrook net empty. The final moments ticked away before Zeke Emerson tallied his second point of the game when he and line mate Brendan O’Connell combined for some good puck movement down low. Emerson swooped out front to challenge the net creating confusion and O’Connell, ever the opportunist, knocked in the rebound. Eaglebrook found itself shorthanded to finish the game, but Summers, Joe Redfearn, Ryan Gagne, and Brenden Russ combined to kill off the six-on-four Avon advantage. Parsons stood tall in net, making some huge saves down the stretch. It was a well-earned victory and a great morale boost for Eaglebrook. Eaglebrook next travels to Berkshire on Friday.
