Jem Wilner '08 at the NHSI

Jem Wilner ’08 has been accepted to the Theater Arts Division of the National High School Institute (NHSI) at Northwestern University for this summer. NHSI, established in 1931, is the nation’s oldest university-based summer program for outstanding high school students. Attendees, known as ‘cherubs’ engage in a five-week course receiving intensive instruction in the techniques, aesthetics, and literature of the theatre. Seven day a week classes include acting, voice, movement, performance theory, text analysis and production, plus specialized electives.

Jem became very involved in the theater as a student at Eaglebrook and has continued his interest at Deerfield Academy. As part of the NHSI application process, Jem received a recommendation from Jeff Connor '83, chair of Eaglebrook’s theater department. Jeff Connor is himself a "cherub" from the NHSI class of 1985.
