Varsity Football v. Avon Old Farms

The team had their most spirited and enjoyable game of the season today, defeating a solid Avon squad 20-12. Down 12-0 in the first half and playing in wet conditions, the team made significant adjustments to stop Avon's spread offense and took advantage of some turnovers to even the score and eventually pull ahead. More importantly, the team played with much greater conviction and aggression and genuinely demonstrated a firm understanding of what we've been teaching and working on all season. It was a great day for the Eagles and a huge boost in our season. The team, through all it's ups and downs, now stands at 6-1 and have guaranteed themselves a winning season this fall, a goal that did not seem easily achievable when we started with so many new players and so many significant injuries.
