Eaglebrook Announces New Board President

Eaglebrook is pleased to announce that D. Scott Wise has succeeded Shell Evans ’59 as President of its Board of Trustees. Scott has been a member of the Board for four years, and he and his wife Linden chaired Eaglebrook’s successful New Century Capital Campaign, which recently exceeded its goal of raising $35 million in capital for the school Their son, Harry, is a member of the class of 2008, and their daughter, Lucie, attended the Summer Semester at Eaglebrook this past summer. Linden is President of the Board of Trustees at the Chapin School in New York, which Lucie attends.

 

Mr. Wise, a graduate of Yale University and New York University School of Law, is a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, the New York law firm. After joining Davis Polk in 1979, he became a partner in 1987. A member of the firm’s litigation department, Mr. Wise has served as counsel for many major national and international companies in a wide variety of litigation and special assignments. His clients have included AstraZeneca LP, the Royal Bank of Scotland, Morgan Stanley, RJR Nabisco, PepsiCo, Inc., Morgan and Sotheby’s, among others. In representing RJR Nabisco, Mr. Wise appeared before committees in both the United States Senate and House of Representatives.

 

In New York, Mr. Wise has served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts and as a Trustee of St. Bernard’s School, The Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute and the Bayard Cutting Arboretum, and he currently on the Board of Trustees at the Westminster School. He is also a Warden of the Parish of Trinity Church, Wall Street.
