A dedication ceremony was held during Winter Carnival weekend to honor Dawn "Bo" Tanner, the recipient of the Voorhees-Carroll Aquatics Chair donated by Nancy Voorhees and her son Kevin Carroll '08. The plaque hanging in the newly redesigned foyer of the Schwab Pool reads:
Nancy Voorhees and Kevin Carroll '08
Established the Aquatics Chair to Honor Dawn "Bo" Tanner
For Her Leadership and Dedication
To Eaglebrook Students Since 2001.
During her tenure at Eaglebrook, Bo has helped many boys who have come through the Eaglebrook swimming program become better swimmers and better people. Kevin says of Bo, "She put a lot of faith in me, and expected a lot of effort, which has helped me progress by setting individual goals."
Speakers at the dedication ceremony were Bill Wood, father of Andrew '05 and Ben '09, Sarah Cyr-Mutty '05, and Dr. Eric Taylor '77, father of Eric '04 and Ellison '10, all of whom were involved with the swimming program during their time at Eaglebrook. Headmaster Andy Chase also spoke at the ceremony, saying that Bo is "one of my role models, as far as energy and vision go." He thanked Bo for "all you do for swimming, for all you do for Eaglebrook, and for all you do for the children here at Eaglebrook."
