Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. Learn about the programs we offer at Eaglebrook, from athletics to arts.
At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Varsity B Hockey team played three games in two days in Quebec this past weekend. The weekend began bright and early on Friday morning, hitting to road for Canada at 8:30. After an uneventful border crossing the boys played their first game against Stanstead College and drew a 2-2 tie. Alex Hope played a terrific game in net, making huge saves down the stretch to maintain the tie. EBS saw goals from Cody Walsh and Jackson Mandli. The team then headed to Sherbrooke to play the traditional games against Bishops College School. The boys played solid hockey but couldn’t penetrate the Bishops defense and goaltender despite carrying the play and keeping the puck in the Bishops end. Remy Levine played well in net but despite the effort and intensity, the team dropped a 3-2 decision. The boys then met their Bishops roommates and spent the night in the dorms. The following morning, EBS dropped a 7-2 decision, despite again playing up-tempo and tough-nosed hockey. Pat Lynch scored a terrific goal on an individual effort and Scott Shay scored his first goal of the season in the contest. EBS then headed to Victoriaville, to watch a Quebec Major Junior game between Victoriaville and Rimouski. The game was a terrific contest and ended 5-4 to the home team. During the game, the boys were fortunate enough to visit the Victoriaville dressing room and training area, and after the game, they met Ryan Jasinsky the only American on the roster. The boys asked questions and had a photo opportunity. EBS then headed to Montreal and had some free time before turning in for the night. The wonderful tradition that Eaglebrook with Bishops is always fun and brings out what is best in both schools. The boys enjoyed themselves and it was a great time for all who participated.
