Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
The Eaglebrook Varsity Ice Hockey Team knew they faced a tough test when they stepped onto the ice against the Crimson Knights of Salisbury School. Salisbury has always been one of Eaglebrook's toughest opponents and the school's varsity team is currently rated number one in New England by several websites and newspapers. The game started off sour for the Eagles when Salisbury scored two quick goals to start the game. Eaglebrook fought back and the first period ended with the score tied 2-2. Eaglebrook reversed their fortune in the second period, capitalizing on a couple of power plays to lead 4-3 at the second break. The third period was a fiercely contested one, with big hits, nice saves, and great scoring chances for each of the teams. When all was done, it was Salisbury coming out on top by a score of 5-4. Eaglebrook now heads into their winter break before reconvening on December 26th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to compete in the storied Toronto Marlboros' International Holiday Classic. Eaglebrook's first game will be an exhibition game against the Moscow Silver Sharks of Moscow, Russia.
