JV Basketball v. Rectory

The Eaglebrook JV Basketball opened its season December 8 against rival Rectory School, from Pomfret, CT with a satisfying 48-40 victory. During the first half, neither team could sink a basket. Eaglebrook played a tenacious pressing defense, shutting down the Rectory offense. Unfortunately, the Eaglebrook squad could not buy a basket, missing numerous easy lay-ins and short jump shots. The half ended 16-11. Once the young Eaglebrook squad calmed down, the game turned in favor of the home team. Lead by the smooth shooting of Ryan Gravina , and powerful moves of Amani Core and Sean Lee . The Brookies took control of the game spending much of the second half shooting foul shots. The defense was lead by the quick hands of Zak Jardim , Kyle Kotch, Jeff Simmonds and Will Norris.
