Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
It was an overcast rainy crisp afternoon, the Eaglebrook School Junior Varsity 2 (JV2) team was filled with anticipation to play their first game of the season at home against Turners Falls. The JV2 soccer team was just formed a few days ago and Monday's match would put the team and the coaches to the test to think on the fly and work as a team to bring home the win for the Eaglebrook community.
The two teams walked onto the field to their positions and then the whistle broke the silence. Turner’s Falls kicked the ball and the game began! The beginning was a nail-biter, to say the least, the Eaglebrook team was a bit uncoordinated at first because they did not have a chance to practice as a unit. This is when Turners Falls made their first goal. Morale was hit but the Eaglebrook soccer team never gave up. After that first goal was made, passion for winning ignited for the Eaglebrook team—they spread out and they were passing the ball between the players, and then soon after the game was tied! It was over for Turners Falls and we are proud to say the Eaglebrook team brought home a win. The final score was 6-1 for Eaglebrook.
