Varsity Baseball v. Westminster

The Brookies earned their first win of the season against Westminster School in front of a Grandparents’ Day crowd on Saturday afternoon. Eaglebrook posted their first run in the bottom of the first on a two-strike double by Hans Forselius, plating Kiernan Keller, but Westminster responded right away in the top of the second. The game moved along swiftly from there and remained knotted at 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth inning when Eaglebrook finally got the bats going again. A pair of singles by Matt Como and Tynan Creagh and a sacrifice fly to center by catcher Carson Cleage was just enough to prove the difference maker in what was clearly a pitcher's duel. Kiernan Keller pitched efficiently for five innings, surrendering only two hits, walking three, and striking out eight. Tynan Creagh closed out the game and earned the win, striking out five and giving up no hits in two innings. It felt great to get that first win of the season, and we look to build off of it with two games this upcoming week, the first on Wednesday against Cushing, and the second against Deerfield Academy.
