Varsity Lacrosse v. Avon Old Farms

The Varsity Lacrosse team suited up for their first game of the season against Avon Old Farms at home on Wednesday, April 11. The boys were excited to play someone new and came out of the gate with a lot of great energy and excitement. We were able to find the net 4 times by the end of the first quarter and controlled most aspects of the game as our defense took the ball away and fed the offensive half of the field. However, Avon managed to squeak one by us, as both teams played a sloppy back and forth transitional game in the second frame, and we got caught in an unsettled situation. The two teams went into halftime with the Eagles up 4-1. After regrouping at the half, the Eagles caught fire in the second half, moving the ball more confidently and controlling the game from the start of the third. We went on to score 7 unanswered goals before Avon scored their next one in the fourth quarter. Eventually we came away victorious, with a 12-2 triumph. This was truly a team victory as, many of our players had a hand in the W as we had multiple goal scorers, multiple assists, face off wins by four different players, big defensive plays, and a bunch of big saves by our goalies. We are looking forward to taking this momentum into our game Saturday against KUA.
