The Eagles traveled north to take on the Brattleboro Colonels on Tuesday, October 10 for their second match up of the season. The Brookies got off to a fast start getting some quality scoring chances, while effectively shutting down the opposing attackers. Eaglebrook showcased great ball movement, which lead to a great strike in the 18-yard box to put the boys up 1-0. Backstopped by outstanding goaltending, the Eagles continued to apply pressure, weaving through the opposition's defense en route to their second tally within the first half. Up 2-0, the Eagles were determined to continue their strong play in the second half. However, despite having multiple chances on offense, the Colonels were able to capitalize on quick transition play. A few costly turnovers breathed new life into the Colonels, as they tied the game at 2-2. Despite the Eagles best efforts, the home team made the most of their chances and converted one last time to pull ahead to close out the hard fought game. Although the score wasn't in their favor, the Eagles walked away with their heads held high knowing that they left everything on the field against a strong opponent. The boys hope to put forth the same gritty effort heading into their Country Fair contest as they welcome the Penguins of Cushing Academy.
