Eaglebrook School was founded in 1922 by Howard Gibbs as a private boarding and day school for boys in middle school. Learn about our school in Deerfield, Massachusetts then and now, and read about the Core Skills we think every boy should know.
At Eaglebrook, we recognize that all students learn in different ways, vary in their innate abilities, and come from a variety of educational backgrounds. Classes at Eaglebrook are organized to meet the needs of each boy.
Eaglebrook is a close community of middle school students, teachers, and their families. Activities outside of the academic classroom are important to the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of boys in middle school. At Eaglebrook, boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. Delivering on our mission is only possible through the incredible generosity of alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and friends.”
Cross Country at the Richard Miller Invitational at Westminster School
After weeks of running in hot sunshine, the Eaglebrook cross-country team bundled up to head to the Westminster School on Saturday for the Richard Miller Invitational. Despite the cool temperatures and wind, the runners were excited for their first 5k of the season. Owen Zinn-Keane and Captain Hudson McGuiness were first up for the team,. Not afraid to race against older boys, Hudson and Owen were ready and determined to race hard in the Varsity race. The gun went off, and the boys went out fast. After a flying first mile, the Brookies headed into the woods for some grueling hills in the second and third miles. Overall, Hudson fought hard for the 16th place finish in the time of 18:48. Owen finished strong in the time of 20:38. Next up was the JV race with 14 Brookies taking to the line led by Captains Bauer Swift and Orlando Doull. After a pep talk at the starting line and shedding their layers, the runners were off. The team came through the first mile looking strong, with Bauer leading the way, and teammates Orlando, Ian Bayliss, and Ollie Fenner working together not far behind. The runners headed into the hills with grit and determination showing on their faces. The race finished on the track, with the Brookies showing off strong finishing kicks. First to cross the line for Eaglebrook was Bauer Swift with a time of 20:19. Not too far behind him was the trio of Ian, Orlando, and Ollie showing great teamwork with times of 21:52, 21:52, and21:54. Nils Forselius displayed his speed finishing in 22:25. Next up were Dyaln Zhu, Peak Viprakasit, and Chris Pandapas working together to finish in times of 23:07, 23:10, and 23:12. Ethan Choung ran tough, crossing the line in 23:26. Nick Maggi and Ryan Robbins came flying to the finish with times of 23:41 and 23:42. Sixth formers David Zhang, Walker Craig and Jack de Bruyn Kops ran hard in times of 24:26, 24:54, and 25:49. It was a wonderful day for the Eaglebrook team, fighting rolling hills and cold conditions to run tough. The day finished with snacks and visits from Eaglebrook alumni runners who have gone on to run for their secondary schools. We thank Westminster School for hosting a great meet and we look forward to our next race at Cardigan Mountain School.
